A Meaningful Moment

Join us

On May 8, 2026, the P.S. 273 cafeteria will be transformed into an elegant morning of empowerment, reflection, and celebration, honoring the matriarchs of the P.S. 273 school community.

As part of the Women’s Empowerment Forum, hosted by Dr. Jean Jacques, mothers of P.S. 273 are invited to a special Mother’s Day–themed brunch and high tea experience. Guests will enjoy a beautifully curated morning featuring catered selections by Brooklyn Tea, along with inspiring speakers, live music, storytelling, and meaningful moments designed to uplift and connect.

The program will include a special presentation and interactive activities led by Ashley Ortiz of Beyond Amo, creating space for reflection, joy, and shared empowerment among mothers and caregivers.

Together, we will pour into one another in celebration of sisterhood, motherhood, and the powerful influence of matriarchy within our community.

Seeding sisterhood

The morning will also feature interactive, wellness-centered activities designed to inspire growth, intention, and self-care. Guests will participate in a DIY hydroponic herb garden experience, where they can plant seeds using a clean, soil-free system—no mess, just meaningful hands-on engagement with nature and growth.

Each guest will also create a personal mason jar of intentions and affirmations, a keepsake designed to reflect their hopes, goals, and affirmations to “bloom into their best self.”

In the spirit of continued growth beyond the event, guests will have the opportunity to enter a raffle for a Click & Grow hydroponic kit, bringing the experience of mindful planting and nurturing into their homes.

These activities are designed to encourage reflection, grounding, and empowerment—reminding every guest that like the seeds they plant, they too are meant to grow, flourish, and bloom.

Spill the Good Tea

For this catered brunch gathering, we are proud to feature Brooklyn Tea, bringing their elevated Tea Culture experience to our Mother’s Day celebration. Guests will enjoy a curated selection of premium loose-leaf teas, signature matchas, and a beautifully prepared assortment of breakfast offerings, including wraps, croissants, pastries, and more.

Brooklyn Tea is a Black women–owned tea house born in Bed-Stuy and inspired by global sourcing and community-centered wellness. Their mission is to bring premium tea experiences to curious drinkers who expect more from what’s in their cup.

From bold black teas to nuanced oolongs, vibrant green teas, and soothing herbal blends, Brooklyn Tea offers something for every palate—each cup crafted to invite presence, comfort, and connection.

Rooted in culture and excellence, Brooklyn Tea brings not just beverages, but an intentional experience that elevates conversation, community, and care throughout the morning.
