For Black History Month, P.S. 273 set a goal to honor the past, and make history in the present, The activities that took place included daily Black History month facts, history lessons, and stories on the loud speaker by Principal Avery, and the PC Mers. Perez via Class Dojo. On Fri. 2/23/26 a Black History Month Fashion Show, Ode to Jet Magazine for the 3K and Prek classes where students and staff donned looks from icons of change, style, and culture. THe high energy event drew almost 100 parents and family members. The bruilding was decorated with Black History icons and Jet magazine covers from the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s, and early y2K era. The over arching goal of th emonth was to Break Recrods and make history, and remind parents that they. have a voice. We rallied the entire school around hte School Survey, issued 2/9/26. We opened the box with a breakfast party entitled, "Spread Love, it's the Brooklyn Way, say what you have to say on the parent suvey" encouraging parents to sign up., it drew 60 parent entries by 9:30AM on opening day. The party continued and we were able mail 207 surveys, and saw 32 online surveys by the end of the weeek, Feb 13th! We migh thave broken a district and even citywide record.

We started ps273.com with a simple goal in mind: to create a platform that makes it easy for people to connect with others who share their interests and passions. Our journey has been a long and winding one, but we're proud of what we've accomplished so far.
