Ms. Richards, a proud Jamaican American teacher at P.S. 273 Wortman, is leading a grassroots relief mission to support victims of Hurricane Melissa — a devastating Category 5 storm that has left Jamaica in crisis.
In just one week, Ms. Richards and her team will be shipping containers of non-perishable aid directly to families in need through trusted local partners on the ground.
We invite our entire school community to join this compassionate mission.
Your donations will help families rebuild, restore, and recover.
Please drop off non-perishable goods at the Main Office, Attn: Mrs. Richards.
Together, we can make a difference.
Together, we can bring hope back to Jamaica.

I just wanted to send a friendly reminder about the donation drive for Jamaica.
Due to the catastrophic impact of Hurricane Melissa, many people in St. Elizabeth, Montego Bay, Negril, and Westmoreland have been left stranded and are in desperate need of food and water. Please consider donating to help support these families in need.
Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity. 🙏🏽💚🇯🇲

First donations came in on 11/11/25!
Life is unpredictable—people and storms come and go, leaving their mark.
Today, we honor those who fought for peace and justice, and the unsung heroes who uplift, unite, and protect—our Soldiers of Love. ❤️
One of them is Jaclyn, who honors her late grandmother, a former NYPD PA with a giving heart, by donating goods for senior citizens in Jamaica.
In her spirit, we continue this mission of comfort and One Love.
We’re accepting nonperishable goods and will begin shipping next week.
Together, we make a difference. 💛💚🖤

Thanks to our family friends at Out of the Walls Mission for donating food.

Thank you to all the families who have already donated! 💚
We’re asking everyone to continue bringing in non-perishable food items to support families in need—both here and abroad.
This year reminds us that community is the first place to trust when we face uncertain economic times and political divides. Together, we show what it means to care and uplift one another. 💛🤝

Thank you Roxanna, and all the parents that helped us bag food for families in need!
