A school calendar is distributed monthly to families in both print and digital formats. You’ll receive a handout, updates through Class Dojo, and can also view the calendar posted here on our website.
Please check back regularly for updates on your child’s education at the school, District 19, Citywide, and Statewide levels. Your child's classroom teacher's will also have events.
Since our school schedule is subject to change, it’s very important that we have your current phone number and email on file.
We use multiple systems to communicate with families to ensure you never miss important information.

Program Schedule
7:30 AM – 7:40 AM | Welcome & Check-In
- Greet dads, grandfathers, uncles, big brothers, and mentors.
- Serve grab-and-go breakfast (coffee, juice, doughnuts, cafeteria snacks).
- 🎤 Host Introduction: Comedian Willie Sweets – From Marcy Projects, DEF Comedy alum – will keep the energy high with clean, hood-friendly dad jokes to start the morning with laughs.
7:40 AM – 8:00 AM | Photo Moments
- 📸 Special Guest: Angie Vasquez – Celebrity Photographer, as seen in Vogue
- Capture candid shots of dads and kids together.
- Utilize panel backdrops for fun, memorable photos.
8:00 AM – 8:20 AM | Words of Inspiration
- Welcome remarks from Principal Avery
- Reflections from Assistant Principal S. Smith
- Community message from our team on fatherhood, mentorship, and showing up for our kids.
8:20 AM – 8:30 AM | Closing & Send-Off
- Dads walk students to class together, “walking like champions.”
- Group thank-you and recognition of District 19’s weeklong celebration of dads.
